Get slimed at Weyden & Brewster

There can be weekends where students are unsure on what to do on campus here at Sonoma State. Student Involvements got you covered this week as they hosted their slime making craft workshop. For this event, which is part of their DIY Craft of the Week held every Saturday at 7 p.m. students were invited to come make slime and socialize with one another. Held in Weyden and Brewster, the tables came lined with all the supplies needed so that anyone could create their own slime masterpieces.

Puppy love; Seawolves volunteer at local shelter

Ever wonder how to spend your Saturday morning? Why not spend the time getting to play with cute little furballs. As part of Sonoma State’s program Join Us Making Progress (JUMP), student volunteers woke up bright and early for a Days Of Service event at the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter. For JUMP events off campus, students meet in front of the school and carpool to the volunteer location. Students were then shown a tour around the shelter while learning about what goes on behind the scenes. Students had the chance to see the animal’s rooms, outdoor play facilities and feeding rooms. The shelter takes in different types of animals from dogs to bunnies. For pets they offer spaying, neutering as well as free microchipping.

Seawolves rose to the occasion with floral arrangements

Spring is around the corner and Associated Student Productions (ASP) took advantage by offering a floral arrangement workshop last week. The creatively named, “Va-Va Bloom” class took place inside Weyden & Brewsters on Thursday night. The class was designed to help Seawolves express their creativity and learn how to make their own floral arrangements. After April showers bring May flowers, floral arranging will be a handy skill to have. It is a talent that fellow Seawolves can use throughout their life. Floral arranging is also much cheaper to make your own bouquets than to purchase them from a florist.
